How to Curl Long Hair?
Hi everyone! Today, I'm going to show you how to get beautiful curls. It's super easy, and anyone can achieve these curls with just a 1-inch curling iron. It doesn't matter what brand you have; I use a $15 Conair iron I bought from Walmart.
Step-by-Step Guide to Curling Long Hair
Step 1: Prep Your Hair
This is how my hair looks before curling. You’ll need a hair clip or a hair tie to section your hair. Start by tying up the top half of your hair, leaving the bottom section down because that’s where we’ll begin.
Step 2: Start Curling
Straighten Your Hair: Begin by roughly straightening your hair. This doesn’t have to be perfect; the goal is to reduce the volume and make it easier to work with straight hair.
Section Your Hair: Grab a small section of hair from the back. Using your curling iron, wrap the hair around the wand. Repeat this process, taking care to curl away from your face.
Step 3: Build Volume
As you curl each section, hold the curling iron close to your scalp to build volume. This technique helps create high porosity hair with lots of lift and bounce.
Step 4: Curl All Sections
Continue curling small sections of your hair, alternating the direction of the curls to create a natural look. Make sure to work on both sides of your head evenly. For a more dramatic look, try incorporating different hairstyles by varying the size of the sections you curl.
Step 5: Final Touches
Once all sections are curled, let the curls cool down. Then, gently run your fingers through your hair to separate the curls. This helps to add more volume and gives a frizzy hair effect, which can be very trendy.
Step 6: Set Your Curls
Finish by spraying your hair with hairspray to hold the curls in place. If needed, tease certain sections to add extra volume. For an even more striking look, you can explore crazy hair day ideas or add a touch of emo hairstyle to your curls.
Tips for Perfect Curls
Use a Hair Color Chart: To select the best shade for your curls, refer to a hair color chart to find the most flattering color for your skin tone.
Layered Hair Cut: A layered haircut can enhance the volume and bounce of your curls.
80s Hair Mens Inspiration: For a retro look, take inspiration from 80s hair men's styles, which are all about volume and texture.
Hairstyles for Shoulder Length Curly Hair: If you have shoulder-length hair, consider trying hairstyles for shoulder-length curly hair for a chic look.
