How to Curl Your Hair?
Beautiful, bouncy, and vivacious locks—those that look like you just stepped off the set of a hair commercial—are a dream for many. Yet, achieving that look can often seem elusive. Have you ever curated a Pinterest board full of hair inspiration and how-tos, or put in a ridiculous amount of effort only to have your gorgeous curls fall flat within hours? If this sounds like you, don't worry—UHAIR is here to help you achieve stunning, long-lasting curls that can last until your next shampoo.
One of my favorite ways to inject a bit of sass into a so-so outfit or to pick myself up on a day when I'm feeling a bit flat is to make over my hair with some big, bouncy, voluminous curls that last for days. Yes, you heard it right—gorgeous, salon-worthy hair that lasts until your next shampoo, which is typically three to four days. Dry shampoo will become your new bestie, trust me!
The secret to achieving this look? Curling your hair with a flat iron. Here's my secret formula for doing it the right way:
Step 1: Preparation
For the best results, start with clean, fresh hair. I usually shampoo my hair twice and condition it with my favorite Kerastase products. After shampooing and conditioning, you'll need the following products and tools:

Products:
Detangling Spray (Optional): For those with particularly tangly hair.
Root Booster (Optional): For those who like a little extra oomph at the roots.
Heat Protectant: The most important product to protect your hair from heat damage.
Style Extender: The secret to the longevity of your curls.
Tools:
Blow Dryer with a Concentration Nozzle
Flat Iron or Hair Straightener with a Rounded Barrel
Two Clips to Section Your Hair
Step 2: Apply Products and Dry
Detangler: Spritz a little detangler through the lengths of your hair, avoiding the scalp area. Use a wet brush or tangle teezer to gently brush the product through your hair.
Root Booster: Apply a volumizing spray or mousse at the roots for extra volume.
Heat Protectant: Use a heat protectant to shield your hair from damage. I recommend Kevin Murphy's Young Again treatment oil.
Style Extender: Apply a style extender like Living Proof's Prime to help your curls last longer.
Now, it's time to blow dry your hair. For a reduced frizz and sleeker finish, use a dryer with a concentration nozzle. Start by using your fingers to rake through your hair, removing excess moisture, then switch to a paddle brush for a smoother finish. Always point the blow dryer from root to tip to prevent frizz.

Step 3:Curling
Section Your Hair: Start by sectioning your hair from the tips of both ears, twisting the top section into a top knot, and securing it with a clip. Split the remaining hair into two sections and brush out any knots or tangles.
Curl: Take a one-inch piece of hair from the back of one of the sections. Using a flat iron with a rounded barrel, twist the iron 360 degrees away from your face until the tail of the hair is poking out. Gently pull the straightener down the length of your hair. If it gets stuck, wiggle it from side to side. Twirl the hair around your finger to shape the curl, then toss it over your shoulder. Repeat this process for all sections of your hair, working from back to front.
Step 4: Final Touches
After curling all sections, your curls might look a bit tight. To loosen them, shake your curls out or gently brush through them with a paddle brush. If you have fine hair that struggles to hold a curl, avoid brushing and let the curls cool completely before finger-combing them.
If desired, apply a light hairspray from underneath the curls to add hold without weighing them down. This will help ensure your curls stay voluminous and bouncy for days.
